Introducing Zoe Angeliki Fotiou, my niece. Born yesterday at 4:49pm in Staten Island, NY.

No, that hair is not a wig.

Mother and daughter are doing well – Zoe is in the NICU right now – she’s fine but they are watching her because she was long in coming… they call it labor for a reason.

On another note, our baby is growing like a weed. I can’t imagine the belly getting any bigger, but it is. The doctor basically weighs Sundi, feels her belly and kicks her out the door. Far cry from NJ, where they do every conceivable test and talk to you about it for 30 minutes – unless you get a crappy ultrasound operator, and then you just get bitchy talk for a while (you know who you are, I’m coming for you).

I’m not sure what I like better – the ole’ fashioned “babies’s has been borned for thousands of years – she’ll be fine” or “are you sure, for the thousandth time, you don’t want this particular test that will allow me to charge the insurance company some more?”
